Summer Is The Time For Change
Let’s talk summer – specifically, let’s talk camp. As a 20+ year camp professional, I have often said that no two summers are ever the same. There is always something new and unexpected each and every camp season.
Summer 2020 was no exception. The landscape was unchartered and filled with unknowns. Camp professionals are often described as “agents for change” “up for anything” and “crazy people who can make anything happen”. What a great group of people to help solve the summer question. With reduced capacity, new health policies and a new way to program, those camps that were able to open were successful – and now become the model for the future. Recently, the New York Times wrote an article about the rebound of camp interest.
Summer 2021 is full of hope, possibility, and incredible camp experiences. Armed with the knowledge of everything that worked in summer 2020 we enter summer 2021 with confidence that camps will continue to provide skills, experiences, and friendships that last a lifetime. I encourage you to reach out to your local camp professionals and listen to their plans for this summer. Camp is an incredible opportunity for campers and staff. We are excited and ready to share summer 2021 with you!
Make sure to come to our virtual open house on Monday, May 3!
