JCC Summer Camps Leadership
Executive Director/Sports Camps Director
Previous to returning to The Roth Family JCC in his current role, Robby was the Director of JCC Summer Camps in Austin, Texas, where his camps won two national awards in six years and enrollment finished near 1,200 campers in 2012. While completing his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Masters in Adolescent Development at the University of Florida, Robby worked for five summers here at Camp J as a Sports Camp Counselor for two summers, and Tayarim Head Counselor for three summers. Robby also graduated from our very own Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center, attended Camp J and J University as a child, and had his 10th birthday party here at the J. Between receiving his master’s degree and his trip out west to Austin, Robby was the Director of the Weinstein JCC’s 114-acre Camp Hilbert in Richmond, VA for three years. Throughout the year, Robby is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire JCC, but is always most excited about camp!

JCC Summer Camps Office Manager
Amanda joined The Roth Family JCC in December 2014 and is ready and excited for her first summer with Camp J. Growing up, she attended Camp Shalom in Ocala both as a camper and counselor-in-training (CIT), which has provided her a strong camp background. After earning a degree in psychology from UCF, she spent six years working at Universal Studios and Blue Man Group Orlando where she interacted daily with children and families from around the world. With an administrative background and an enthusiasm for making sure our JCC Summer Camps are the best they can be, she can’t wait for this summer!

Camp J Assistant Director (K-3rd grades)
This will be Chelsea’s third summer at Camp J and she is so excited for camp to start! She graduated from UCF with a degree in Psychology in May of 2015 and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Chelsea grew up attending sleepaway camp in Georgia for eight summers, and then began working as a camp counselor at the JCC in Miami before making her way up to Orlando. During the school year Chelsea is a full-time employee of the JCC. She spends her mornings in the Early Childhood Learning Center and her afternoons as the Head Counselor at our J University after school program. She is most looking forward to the awesome field trips and her favorite part of camp, Color War!

Camp J Assistant Director (4th-9th grades)
This will be Kacie’s sixth summer at Camp J, and she is most looking forward to working with Camp J’s oldest campers in Chaverim and Tayarim, overnight field trips, Color War, and playing with all of the kids again. During the school year Kacie is a teacher at The Posnack School in Davie, South Florida. Kacie graduated from UCF with a degree in Elementary Education. As a child, she attended sleepaway camp in Georgia for eight summers and day camp in south Florida. Summer camp has always been a huge part of her life.

Camp J Program Director
This will be Michael’s 26th summer at Camp J, and he is looking forward to working with everyone and helping to make the upcoming summer a memorable one. Michael has served many roles at Camp J from a head counselor to sports specialist. Michael went back to school to earn his Master’s Degree in Education this past September. During the school year, Michael is a teacher in Polk County. Michael thinks of the Orlando JCC as family and appreciates how much it has been a part of his life.
Bambi Ellen Fadoul
Camp J Theater Director (4th-9th)
This summer’s Camp J theater productions will be directed by a star of the Theatre South Playhouse team, Bambi Ellen Fadoul. Bambi has performed professionally all over the world, including as Frenchie in an international tour of GREASE, sharing the stage with Frankie Avalon. Now, you can regularly catch Bambi at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, starring as Dory in Finding Nemo the Musical! Favorite credits include, Sister Leo in NUNSENSE in Niagara Falls, and Ado Annie for the Oklahoma Cetennial Concert. Bambi received her training at Oklahoma City University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theater.
Camp J Theater Director (2nd-3rd)
Lauren is thrilled to be representing Theatre South Playhouse at The Roth Family JCC this summer! In December 2013, Lauren graduated with highest honors from the University of New Hampshire, with an emphasis in Acting and Secondary Education in Theatre. Since returning to the central Florida-area, she has worked with many theatre companies including the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Mad Cow Theatre, Athens Theatre, Playwrights’ Round Table, Baggy Pants Theater, Bay Street Players, Wekiva River Players, and Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park, and has also spent time performing at some of SeaWorld’s holiday events. She has taught for the last several years with various schools, camps, and programs in the area. Lauren works as a performer, teaching artist, director, stage manager, substitute teacher, community outreach teacher, and more – and loves it all!

Coach Alec brings a unique and exciting understanding of swimming, gained through 23 years of experience as both a professional athlete and head coach. He is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) with Level 5 credentials. Alec studied in his hometown of Omsk, Russia at the Institute of Physical Culture; graduating with a degree in Swim Coaching. As an athlete, Coach Alec was a distance swimmer becoming the Russian National Champion in the 1500m freestyle in 1991 and followed that up by becoming a Professional Triathlete for ten years. During this time he was ranked #1 in the USA in three separate years, finished 6 Ironman competitions, and placed 13th in the Hawaii Ironman, the World Championship of triathlons. Since starting his coaching career in central Florida eleven years ago, he has produced swimmers who qualified for the Olympics, swimmers with national and international rankings, and swimmers who competed at World Cups, National Select Camps, and Junior Nationals. His swimmers have set two national records and 19 state records, and have been ranked #1 (11 swimmers) with more than one hundred top-16 finishes in the U.S.

Camp J Junior
Director, Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center
Carol is a graduate of Monmouth College (Illinois), where she majored in Sociology and Speech Communications. She earned her elementary teaching certification from Lesley College (Boston) and holds her Director’s Credential in the State of Florida. Carol has been at the JCC since 1989 as a teacher, supervisor, assistant director, and assumed the role of director since 2001. Carol is active in local and state organizations including a tri-county directors’ group, Advisory Board for Early Childhood Education at Seminole State College, and Advisory Board at Community Coordinated Care for Children (4C). She is dedicated to the education of young children and providing quality education within a safe and nurturing environment.

Camp J Junior Director
Jodi has been at the JCC since 1999, during which time she has worked as a team supervisor, assistant director, and camp director for the preschool. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, teaching kindergarten for eight years and working in administration at various preschools. She is originally from New York, but moved to Florida for the weather in 1985. She has a teenage son, Matthew, who has attended the JCC since he was an infant.

Campus Security Director
Andy is responsible for the overall security and emergency preparedness of the JCC’s campus. He brings to the job more than 20 years’ experience with the Orlando Police Department, most recently serving as the Technology and Forensics Unit Supervisor for the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Among his many other assignments, he managed the Orlando International Airport Police Emergency Operations Center for an extended period, commencing the morning of September 11, 2001. He also served as the Orlando Police Department Airport Division liaison to the El Al Airlines Security staff for their annual flight and passenger safety program. Andy holds a BS from the University of Florida and an MBA in Public Administration from Troy University (Troy, AL), in addition to multiple specialized law enforcement certifications, including FEMA and crisis management course certifications. Andy and his family have been Maitland residents since 1994.
