Robby Etzkin
Executive Director

Previous to returning to The Roth Family JCC in his current role, Robby was the Director of JCC Summer Camps in Austin, Texas, where his camps won two national awards in six years and enrollment finished at near 1,200 campers in 2012. While completing his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and master’s in adolescent development at the University of Florida, Robby worked for five summers here at Camp J—as a Sports Camp Counselor for two summers, and Tayarim Head Counselor for three summers. Robby also graduated from our very own Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center, attended Camp J and J University as a child, and had his 10th birthday party here at the J. Between receiving his master’s degree and his trip out west to Austin, Robby was the Director of the Weinstein JCC’s 114-acre Camp Hilbert in Richmond, VA for three years. Throughout the year, Robby is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire JCC, but is always most excited about camp!

Kacie Zemel

Youth and Camp Director

This will be Kacie’s sixth summer at Camp J, and her first summer as the The Roth Family JCC’s new Youth & Camp Director. Since she started as the Youth & Camp Director back in August 2017, Kacie has been eager for the first day of camp. Before becoming the JCC’s Youth & Camp Director, Kacie was living in South Florida as a Jewish Day School teacher. Kacie graduated from UCF with a degree in Elementary Education. Kacie is most looking forward to seeing the smiling faces of our returning campers, as well as welcoming new campers to the best summer of their lives. As a child, she attended sleepaway camp in Georgia for eight summers and day camp in south Florida. Summer camp has always been a huge part of her life.

Amanda Dennis

Amanda joined The Roth Family JCC in December 2014 and is excited for her fourth summer with Camp J. Growing up, she attended Camp Shalom in Ocala both as a camper and counselor-in-training (CIT), which has provided her with a strong camp background. After earning a degree in psychology from UCF, she spent six years working at Universal Studios and Blue Man Group Orlando, where she interacted daily with children and families from around the world. With an administrative background and an enthusiasm for making sure Camp J is the best that it can be, she can’t wait for this summer!

Chelsea Quereau 
Camp J Assistant Director (K-5th grades)

This will be Chelsea’s fourth summer at Camp J and she is so excited for camp to start! She graduated from UCF with a degree in Psychology in May of 2015 and is currently working towards her master’s degree in social work. Chelsea grew up attending sleepaway camp in Georgia for eight summers, and then began working as a camp counselor at the Alper JCC in Miami before making her way up to Orlando. During the school year Chelsea works part-time in the youth department helping to run our after-school program, J University. She is most looking forward to the great special events and amazing field trips!

Megan Goldberg
Camp J Program Director

This will be Megan’s sixth summer at Camp J. She is most looking forward to seeing returning campers, and an all-star Color War week! Megan has held a variety of roles at camp but the camp, but the camp programming aspect, has always been a passion of hers. She is excited to be Camp J’s Program Director for this upcoming summer. During the year, Megan teaches 9th Grade AP Human Geography at Oak Ridge High School. She graduated from UCF in 2015 with a degree in Social Sciences Education and is currently pursuing a master of education at UCF. Megan is no stranger to day camp, she has grown up attending day camps and looking forward to a great summer at Camp J.

Stephanie Brauner
Camp J Inclusion Coordinator & LIT Coordinator

This summer will be Stephanie’s second summer with us at Camp J. She is thrilled to be returning and honored to be a part of the leadership team. While this is Stephanie’s second summer with us at Camp J, she was previously a counselor at a Jewish camp in New Jersey for 7 years, as well as a counselor for BBYO’s Passport to Israel. Stephanie has a master’s degree in special education and has been teaching in New York and Florida for 13 years. Stephanie is a proud mom of Jeremy and Zachary, who also love being a part of the Camp J family. Her favorite part of camp is watching campers try new and exciting things each day. Stephanie is most looking forward to Israel Day. She is excited to expand our Leaders-in-Training program and help develop teen’s leadership skills at camp. Stephanie is also committed to helping to build an inclusive camp so all campers can thrive at Camp J and have the best summer experience.

Bambi Ellen Fadoul
Theatre South

This summer’s Camp J theater productions will be directed by a star of the Theatre South Playhouse team, Bambi  Ellen Fadoul. Bambi has performed professionally all over the world, including as Frenchie in an international tour  of GREASE, sharing the stage with Frankie Avalon. Now, you can regularly catch Bambi at Disney’s Animal Kingdom,  starring as Dory in Finding Nemo the Musical! Favorite credits include, Sister Leo in NUNSENSE in Niagara Falls, and  Ado Annie for the Oklahoma Cetennial Concert. Bambi received her training at Oklahoma City University, where she  received her bachelor’s degree in musical theater.



Alec Rukosuev

Tara Harris
Director of Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics

Tara is a longtime board member and parent here at the JCC. For more than a decade, Tara has worked tirelessly in support of the JCC’s programs, particularly in the Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center, J University after school program, Camp J, and teen programs. She has been a long time avid user of our sports, fitness, and aquatics programs, stepping in to oversee these programs on an interim basis throughout the summer of 2017. This summer, Tara is looking forward to seeing familiar faces, getting to know new campers, and making 2018 the best summer yet!

Camp J Junior

Melissa Youngblood
Director, Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center

Melissa is excited for her first summer at Camp J. She started her professional career as a Kindergarten teacher at the Akiva School in Nasvhille, which launched her into becoming the Early Childhood Director at the Gordon JCC of Nashville, and later a similar position at the Louisville JCC. Through March 30, Melissa will be completing her time as the Director of Creative World School in Estero, FL and begins at our JCC on April 2 as the new Director of our nationally-accredited Richard S. Adler Early Childhood Learning Center. Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education and a master’s degree in special education with an emphasis on emotional and behavior disorders, both from Vanderbilt University. Melissa is married to her husband John and has three children, her son, 7, and twin 3-year-old daughters who will experience their first magical summer of Camp J together this year.

Jodi Alter

Jodi Alter
Camp J Junior Director

Jodi has been at the JCC since 1999, during which time she has worked as a team supervisor, assistant director, and camp director for the preschool.  She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, teaching kindergarten for eight years and working in administration at various preschools.  She is originally from New York, but moved to Florida for the weather in 1985.  She has a teenage son, Matthew, who has attended the JCC since he was an infant.

Andy Brennan
Campus Security Director

Andy is responsible for the overall security and emergency preparedness of the JCC’s campus. He brings to the job more than 20 years’ experience with the Orlando Police Department, most recently serving as the Technology and Forensics Unit Supervisor for the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Among his many other assignments, he managed the Orlando International Airport Police Emergency Operations Center for an extended period, commencing the morning of September 11, 2001. He also served as the Orlando Police Department Airport Division liaison to the El Al Airlines Security staff for their annual flight and passenger safety program. Andy holds a BS from the University of Florida and an MBA in Public Administration from Troy University (Troy, AL), in addition to multiple specialized law enforcement certifications, including FEMA and crisis management course certifications. Andy and his family have been Maitland residents since 1994.
