COVID-19 Policies

  • What do I need to know before coming to campus?
  • Travel Policy (effective August 1, 2020)
  • In compliance with an Orange County ordinance now in effect, you must wear a face mask from the moment you exit your vehicle and at all times while on the campus.
  • Every person entering The Roth Family JCC will have their temperature taken with an instant digital thermometer. Entrance will be refused to anyone with a fever of 100 F or higher. You must be fever-free for 72 hours before you can return. You will scan your own ID and membership card upon entry. You will have no physical contact with the Welcome Center staff other than a temperature screening.
  • Anyone who tests positive for the COVID-19 virus& may not return to the JCC until they have *isolated 14-days from the campus and have had 2 consecutive negative COVID-19 tests at least a day apart
  • Recent studies have shown that while on a flight, the air particle filtration and ventilation systems along with the requirement to wear masks means airborne particles within the cabin have a very short life span. However the risks in how people get to the airport, going through security, waiting to board the plane, boarding the plane, exiting the plane and getting luggage increases that risk. Because of the reduced risk on the plane, we have been able to adjust our policy regarding traveling by plane.
  • If you and your child chose to travel by plane to any domestic destination in the US, you may return to the JCC if you had a:
  • 10 day isolation period,* remaining symptom-free w/o aid of medication*

or

  • 5 day isolation period with a negative COVID-19 test on the 5th day, remaining symptom-free, followed by another negative COVID-19 test on day 7

or

  • 7 day isolation period with a negative COVID-19 test on the 7th day.
  • If you chose to travel by plane to any international destination, Alaska or Hawaii, you may only return to the JCC if you had a:
  • 10 day isolation period, remaining symptom-free w/o aid of medication

or

  • 7 day isolation* period with a negative COVID-19 test on the 7th day remaining symptom-free without the aid medication.
  • If a parent or family member should travel by plane but not the child, the child is able to attend the ECLC without a wait period as long as the parent and/or family members remains symptom-free.
  • Travel by car to any destination no longer requires a wait period as long as all members who traveled remain symptom-free.
  • If you have questions about this or other COVID-19 policies on the Jewish Community Campus, please contact Campus Security & Safety Director Jake Silverman.
