In this exhibition and screening of video artwork by Jewish artists, renowned film theorist Laura Mulvey’s scholarly rumination on the history of cinema and digital technology, focusing on movement and stillness, becomes a metaphor for tradition and change in the 21st century Jewish diaspora. The artists in the exhibition each interpret their Jewish experience differently through moving images. The videos consider a variety of subjects, including the subjectivity and error of memory, reconciliation of grief, and the movement of geographic place and culture.
